How fast can Corona virus spread?

What is Corona Virus?

The original name of the virus is Covid-19, a member of the coronavirus family that has never been encountered before. Many of those initially infected either worked or frequently shopped in the Huanan Seafood wholesale market in the center of the Chinese city, which also sold live and  newly slaughtered animals.

Newly and troubling viruses usually originate in animal host.Ebola and Flu are other examples, and severe acute respiratory syndrome(Sars) and Middle Eastern respiratory syndrome(Mers) are both caused by coronaviruses that came from animals. In 2002,Sars spread virtually unchecked to 37 countries, causing global panic, infecting more than 8,000 people and killing more than 750. Mers appears to be easily passed between humans to humans but has greater lithality , killing 35% of about 2500 people who have been effected.

Symptoms of the virus

The virus can cause pneumonia. Those who have fallen ill are reported to suffer coughs, fever and breathing difficulties. In severe cases there can be organ failure. As this is viral pneumonia, antibiotics are of no use. The antiviral drugs we have against flu will not work.Recovery depends on the strength of the
immune system. Many of those who have died were already in poor health.UK Chief Medical Officers are advising anyone who has travelled to the UK from mainland China,Thailand,Japan,Republic of Korea,Hong Kong,Taiwan,Singapore,Malaysia or Macau in the last 14 days and who is experiencing a cough or fever or shortness of breath to stay indoors and call NHS 111,even if symptoms are mild.

The main symptoms of COVID-19 cases are::
*Fever
*Cough
*Shortness of breath

Coronavirus cases in South Korea and Italy

In just days, cases of coronavirus in South Korea have ranked to about 833 people infected with eight deaths.More than half the cases there are members who are somehow linked to a secret religious sect called Shincheonji Church of Jesus,The New York Times reported .About 79,539 confirmed coronavirus cases according to the Johns Hopkins virus dashboard with 2,627 deaths (worldwide).

About 34 deaths have been linked to the coronavirus outside of the mainland china, including in Italy,Taiwan, the Philippines,Japan,South Korea,Iran,France and three Diamond Princess passengers.

The Chinese Center for Disease Control and prevention is reporting COVID-19 is up to 20 times more deadly the flu with a fatality rate of about 2.3%. The study researches, from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, analysed information from 44,672 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in China that were reported between Dec 31,2019 and Feb 11,2020. Among these cases there were 1023 deaths, resulting in an overall death rate of 2.3%.That's much higher than the death of rare of flu, which is around 0.1% in the US,according to The New York Times.

However the new study found that the death rate from COVID-19 varied by location. In Hubei Province, where the outbreak began, the death rate was 2.9% compared with just 0.4% in other provinces-a 7-fold difference. The virus mostly have affected those whose age is 80 or above. The death rate was 14.8%,compared with 8% for those ages 70 to 49 and 0.2% for those ages 10 to 39.No deaths have been reported among children from birth to age 9.

Actually the real reason for the outbreak of  COVID-19 is that on Feb 12,the Hubei Province where the outbreak began in Wuhan, officials have decided to consider a  "clinical" diagnosis for the new coronavirus. The first infection was linked to a live animal market, but the virus is now spreading from person to person. It's important to note that person to person spread can happen on a continuous manner. Some viruses are highly contagious while some are not.

The virus that cause COVID-19 seems to be spreading easily and sustain-ably in the community. Community spread means people have been infected with the virus in an area, including some who are not sure how or where they became infected.

Can COVID-19 spread through food??

Coronavirus are generally thought to be spread through person to person through respiratory droplets.Currently there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with the food. Before preparing or eating food it is important to always wash your hands with hand washes for 20 seconds for general food
safety.People should wash their hands after blowing their nose, sneezing or coughing. It might happen that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface which has virus on it,and after that he or she touches their face or eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads. In general because of low survivability of the coronaviruses on surfaces there is low risk of spreading through foods.

Will warm weather slow down the spread rate of COVID-19??

It is not yet know whether warm weather and temperature will slow down the spread of COVID-19. Some other viruses like the common cold and flu, spread more during cold weather months but that does not mean it is impossible to become sick with these viruses during other months. At this time,it is not known whether the spraed of COVID-19 will decrease or not when the weather becomes warmer. There is much more to learn about its transmissibility , severity and other features associated with COVID-19 and investigations are ongoing.

Best test to prove whether a person has COVID-19 or not..

According WHO, the best test to prove whether a person is bearing COVID-19 within themselves is to hold their breath for just 12 secs and repeat it for 3 times consecutively. If the person feels shortness of breath or coughs, then it proves that the person has COVID-19 virus.

The basic steps that one need to follow to prevent COVID-19 to spread...

1. Clean the hands regularly with an alcohol-based sanitizer,or wash face them with soap and water. The CDC also makes recommendation, advising that sanitizer should contain "at least 60% alcohol" and that people should wash their hands for at least 20 secs.

2. Clean surface-such as kitchen seats and work desks-regularly with disinfectant.

3. Avoid crowded areas when going out for people over 60 years old and people with any underlying health problems has higher chance of having coronavirus.

4. Try to avoid close contact with the people who display flu-like symptoms including coughing and sneezing.
